Rossini was a serious composer of sometimes-unserious music. His “Petite Messe Solenelle” was written long after his retirement from composing operas, but despite its name, it is neither little nor solemn! This piece is where the Venn diagram circles “Latin Mass” and “Comic Opera” intersect, and it’s full of musical antics in Rossini’s inimitable style. Come join us for the fun!
