Concert Information

As an organization, we have worked hard over the past two years of silence to imagine how we would return to singing—and what to say when we did. We’ve all been through a time—an experience…a thing—whether it has been loss or gain, grief or hope, heartache or joy. Probably some combination of each of these. No one thing can address all of it.

The program we are preparing for the Spring of 2022 will attempt to speak in different ways to the many and varied experiences that we have shared as a group, that we have endured alone, that we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemy, that we wouldn’t trade for the world. Our hope for this concert is to remember what needs remembering, to celebrate what needs celebrating, to grieve what needs grieving.

Joining us for this special program are local artists including AMA Dance Theatre and Willow Women’s Ensemble. Mystic is fortunate to be home to so many talented and eager performing arts groups. We believe that art is always more than the sum of its parts; and in that spirit, we are actively seeking out opportunities to collaborate with our fellow performers to explore new avenues of expression and meaning.

Our first concert of the post-pandemic era will feature new music from Daniel Elder, Karen Siegel, and Sarah Quartel— as well as classics of the choral repertoire: Samuel Barber’s ‘Sure on this shining night,’ Gabriel Faure’s ‘Cantique de Jean Racine, Healey Willan’s ‘Rise up, My love’, Brahms 'In stiller Nacht' —and more.
