Elizabeth de Trejo...
During the 2010-2011 season, Ms. de Trejo returned to Opera Tampa for the role of Violetta in La Traviata, toured with the Florida Orchestra as guest soloist, and performed concerts of zarzuela in Mexico City and Lincoln Center. In the 2009-2010 season she triumphantly debuted the role of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Tampa, returned to Carnegie Hall to perform Carmina Burana and collaborated with the Metropolitan Opera covering in Berg's Masterpiece, Lulu.
During the 2008-2009 season she made her Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist under the baton of composer John Rutter, returned to the Toledo Opera where she performed the role of Gilda in Rigoletto, performed Adina in LʼElisir dʼamore with Dayton Opera, Marguerite in Faust with Opera Tampa and returned to Carnegie Hall as the soprano soloist in John Rutterʼs Requiem. In 2007-2008, Ms. de Trejo performed the roles of Violetta in La Traviata in Miami, Adele in Die Fledermaus and Die Freundin in Franz Leharʼs Der Frühling in Milan and recorded live with the Orchestra Verdi in the title role of Mascagniʼs Il Si. Previous seasons include performances with Opera Tampa as Juliette in Gounodʼs famed opera Romeo et Juliette and the role of Rosina in Anton Coppolaʼs epic opera, Sacco and Vanzetti; for which an aria was written for her. Other recent performances have been as Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in Lʼelisir dʼamore, Clarice in Haydnʼs Il Mondo della Luna in Basel, Switzerland, Die Königen die Nacht in Die Zauberflöte für Kinder with the Opernhaus Zürich, the soprano soloist in Bachʼs Mass in B minor and the Mozart Requiem.
In addition to her operatic repertoire, Elizabeth is a consummate recitalist and concert performer, having given numerous concerts both in Europe and the United States. She has worked with notable conductors and has appeared as guest soloist with many Orchestras in such works as Mahlerʼs Symphony No. 4, Beethoven's Mass in C, and the Brahms, Fauré and Mozart Requiems, to name a few. She has also received numerous awards from prominent vocal competitions, including the Gerda Lissner Opera Competition in New York where she was a second place winner, the MacAllister Opera Competition (Matthias Award), the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the Connecticut and Gulf Coast Regions, the Jenny Lind Soprano Competition, the Rosa Ponselle Competition and the Giulio Gari Foundation Opera Competition and the Liederkranz Competition. Ms. de Trejo is also a recent recipient of a career grant from Career Bridges Foundation and the Sergio Franchi Foundation and was a finalist in the Jensen Foundation Competition.
Elizabeth can be seen on the recently released EMI Classics DVD of Der Rosenkavalier with Vasselina Kasarova, Nina Stemma, and Alfred Muff under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst and Sven Erich Bechtolf live from Opernhaus Zürich. Ms. de Trejo attended Loyola University, New Orleans, where she received a Bachelor's of Music in Performance in 1999 and Yale University, receiving her Master of Music in May 2001. Ms. de Trejo then joined the International Opera Studio with the Opernhaus Zürich from 2003-2004.
Megan Roth...
A versatile singing actress, Megan Roth is an avid performer of opera, oratorio, and art song. Most recently, she performed the role of Francisca in Donizetti’s Maria Padilla with Opera Boston, and made her debut with Opera Providence as Dorabella in Così fan tutte. Past performances include Amélie in La Grande Duchesse de Gérolstein with Opera Boston, Angelina in La Cenerentola with Opera del West, and Dorabella in Così fan tutte and the Woman in the Jazz Trio of Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti with Boston Midsummer Opera. She sang in the 2011 Pulitzer-Prize winning opera Madame White Snake with Opera Boston and covered the roles of Athamas and Ino in Handel’s Semele with Boston Baroque. Recent oratorio performances include Handel's Messiah with the Marblehead Festival Chorus and Commonwealth Opera, and Bach’s Magnificat with the Choral Art Society in Scituate, Massachusetts. In 2011/2012 Ms. Roth will cover the role of Béatrice in Opera Boston’s production of Béatrice et Bénédict, and make her debut with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra in Handel’s Messiah, and with the Mystic River Chorale in Handel’s Chandos Anthem, Mozart’s ‘Credo’ Messe and Regina Coeli.
Laurence T. Broderick...

Laurence Broderick, Tenor. Birthplace: The Bronx, New York. Laurence completed an engagement with the New York City Opera, singing Trin in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West. Past performances at New York City Opera include Of Mice and Men, L’Etoile, The Capulets and the Montagues, The Barber of Seville (Touring), and Ariodante. Also, he has performed with the Sarasota Opera in Falstaff, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Oberto Conte di San Bonifacio, and scenes from La Boheme, Un Ballo in Maschera, and La Rondine, and the Utah Festival Opera in Susannah, Naughty Marietta, and South Pacific. He has appeared as the featured soloist in numerous concerts including the award-winning television concert Idol Tiers, and has toured Europe and the Middle East. He is also an accomplished organist, pianist, and choral conductor. Laurence was awarded grants from both The Schuyler Foundation for Careerbridges, and the Sergio Franchi Foundation. Laurence is in demand as a concert performer, including featured soloist engagements with the Ravello Music Festival, in Ravello Italy, the Westchester Arts Council, the National Arts Council, the Rich Forum in “A Night at the Opera,” and Opera Ischia in Ischia, Italy. He was a featured soloist in a Careerbridges production with the Pueblo Symphony in Colorado, and with the Sergio Franchi Memorial Concert. Laurence traveled to Tirana, Albania to perform in the Maria Kraja Vocal Festival and Memorial Concert, which was televised throughout Europe. Also, he performed in the CBS produced television show “Who Wants to Be an Opera Star,” in which featured an appearance at Symphony Space in New York. He sang the tenor solo in Schubert’s Mass in E-flat major with the St. Cecilia Orchestra and Chorus. In May 2010, Laurence made his Carnegie Hall debut as the tenor soloist in Bach’s Mass in B-minor, and returned to Carnegie Hall in April of 2011, as the tenor soloist in Mozart’s Requiem. Laurence’s upcoming performances include Rodolfo in La Boheme, with the New Amsterdam Symphony.
Ross Benoliel...
Ross Benoliel is gaining an international reputation in the world of opera. He returned to Belle Ile en Mer, France for his third consecutive season this past summer singing Marcello in La Boheme, having performed Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte last season and Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale his first season. Recent engagements include La Boheme with Hong Kong Opera and Candide in Munich, Vienna, and Bremen. Mr. Benoliel has appeared in major opera houses and international festivals in the United States, including New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Tulsa Opera, Madison Opera and Chautauqua Opera. Other important venues include Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Carnegie Hall, where he made his recital debut in 2007. He is currently singing with the Metropolitan Opera.
Stonington H.S. Chamber Choir
Chris Stanley - Choral Director
Chris Stanley is in his 18th year of teaching, and his 14th year as Choral Director at Stonington High School. Mr. Stanley started his teaching career in the East Longmeadow (MA) school system, teaching at both the high school and elementary levels. He received his undergraduate degree in Music Education at Hofstra University and completed his Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Connecticut where he studied with Peter Bagley, Mary Ellen Junda, and Avo Somer. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Mr. Stanley’s choirs have consistently received ratings of Superior and Excellent at festivals throughout the country. He conducts five choirs at Stonington, teaches guitar and piano and has been musical director for all Stonington High musical productions since arriving in 1998. He has also been the music director at Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic since 2007.
In 2009 he received the Connecticut High School Musical Theater Award for Best Musical Director for the Stonington High production of Into the Woods. He is actively involved in community and professional theater throughout Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island and has been nominated for a Eugene O’Neill Award for Leading Actor in a musical. Mr. Stanley is also musical director for the professional vocal group, Cabaret-2-Go, which performs throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. Mr. Stanley resides in East Lyme with his talented wife Erin, two boys Spencer and Lucas, and 3 year old Scarlett.
